Hunting in Piedmont. A bill presented by the councilor Giorgio Ferrero, which is now being examined by the Council, intends to provide the Piedmont Region with new legislation on hunting.
The changes proposed in the Hunting Bill are in tune with national and European changes and ensure that the legislation incorporates the needs and requests of sector associations.
Among the main innovations are the particular protection for the species of the typical alpine fauna and birds protected by the EU directive, the increase of the minimum hunting area of the territorial hunting areas and of the alpine areas, the obligation of a shooting test for selective hunting, the recognition of the possibility of marketing the meat of animals killed .
