Wild boar hunting also in the area covered by snow, release of the withdrawal plans for the hunting of roe deer, destination of the money of the hunters' cards as a priority to compensation for damage caused to agricultural crops by wildlife. These are the three instances that the Extraordinary Commissioner of the Province of Asti Alberto Ardia has undertaken to bring before the Regional Councilor for hunting. Ardia himself declared this at the first meeting of the new wild ungulate coordination table of our province consisting of the Province, Prefecture, State Forestry Corps, Piedmont Region, Territorial Hunting Areas, Professional Agricultural Organizations, Hunting Associations, Management Bodies of the Areas Protected and environmental wildlife surveillance agents. “The body - said the Commissioner - was established on the basis of requests received from the mayors of Asti in agreement with the Prefect. The Municipalities highlighted the need to adopt incisive measures to counter the effects that the wild boar and roe deer populations cause on the provincial territory: high damage to agricultural crops, car accidents, safety problems in general ".
The table will be reconvened at the end of November, to monitor the trend of the phenomenon and at the same time evaluate the proposal of the Province to authorize the "selecontrollers" and the Voluntary Hunting Guards in possession of the qualification for selection hunting, to carry out containment interventions , in collaboration with the security agents, with rifle and sight optics at night, from a car with the aid of the lighthouse, in the provincial territory where the need arises.
