At the proposal of the councilor for health, the Piedmont regional council today approved the resolution that allocates the sum of over 8,2 million euros for urgent measures for African swine fever. As underlined by the vice president of the Region and coordinator of the management of the epidemic from African swine fever, these are resources that can be used immediately for the safety of the areas at risk and in particular for the positioning of the fencing nets.

This will make it possible to reactivate not only outdoor activities but also work activities which, as a result of national ordinances, have in fact been blocked.
The sum of 8 million advanced by the Region will be divided among the ASL headquarters of multizonal prophylaxis presidia and veterinary police: subsequently it will be reimbursed by the Commissioner for swine fever, with the specific funding provided for by law 29 of last 7 April. In recent weeks the Region had already anticipated 5 million euro for compensation for damaged agricultural activities.
