Apulian gunmen and hunters, as categories dissociated from their associations, have sent a jointly signed letter of protest to the Puglia Region.
With the letter, the gunsmiths and hunters denounce some non-compliance and negligence towards the respective categories and express their dissent on the hunting policy adopted by the Councilor Stefàno.
Below is the full text of the letter from the Apulian Armieri and Hunters to the regional administrators.
"At the end of the Hunting Activity (15/1/2012) to migratory game, excluding some species of irrelevant importance which ends on 29/1/2012, THE ARMIERS AND THE PUGLIAN HUNTERS, free from belonging to hunting associations, indignant, express the greatest dissent and indignation towards the VENDOLA government and in particular towards the work of the Councilor for Agricultural Resources and Hunting dr. Dario Stefano for the serious non-compliance, neglect, disinterest and obstinacy demonstrated, up to now, on the general problems that grip the category of Weapons and Hunters, (however they are an integral part of the social context of the Puglia Region), and in particular for the following problems:
1) - OBSTINATION by the Assessor Stefano in approving the 2011/2012 Hunting Calendar, with the closure of the Turdidi on January 15, 2012, completely disregarding what were the proposals of the Hunting Association and also those expressed by the Apulian Provinces. It turned out to be the worst calendar compared to that of other regions of Italy. Punitive for the category '. In Basilicata, our neighboring region, the hunt for turdidae ends on 22/1/2012.
2) - Inattention and disinterest for the lack of reply, as soon as the hunting calendar was approved, to the note, already dated 5 August 2011, signed by all the hunting associations, addressed to the Presidents Vendola and Introna to the Councilor Stefano and colleagues of the Board to the Presidents of the council commissions and to all the Regional Councilors, even minority ones.
3) - Disinterest in the further note of 10 October 2011, always signed by all the hunting associations always addressed to the councilor Stefano and to the manager of the hunting office with whom an urgent meeting with the councilor was requested to reach a shared solution on the issues of the moment (Hunting Calendar - Regional Wildlife Plan).
4) - LACK OF INTEREST AND NON-FULFILLMENT on the ongoing issue of the Regional Wildlife Plan to be reviewed for the application of the SEA following a sentence of the Council of State in May 2011, which gave the Region ten months to submit it to the Strategic Environmental Assessment. About seven months have now passed and everything is at a standstill. Perhaps the Councilor does not know that this failure will negatively affect the developments of the next hunting season.
5) - LACK OF INTEREST AND NON-FULFILLMENT of the Assessor Stefano for the failure to set up the examination commission, in the Province of Bari, for the qualification to practice hunting stopped for over two years due to political interference of the same Councilor on the previous one and precisely for the obstinate will to replace the President with another two years before the natural expiration. This is in contrast with the regional legislation on the subject, starting a dispute with the Administrative Judiciary which ended negatively for the Region with an expense of over 30.000,00 euros, clearly subtracted from all Apulian citizens who pay taxes and which you could really do without and use them for much more necessary things.
6) - LIGHTNESS in approving, by way of derogation, with Council resolution n.2315 of 18/10/2011, the hunting levy on transfer, without the technical opinion of the Hunting Associations in the Regional Hunting Wildlife Technical Committee, deliberately absent in the session of 11/10/2012 as they are already in disagreement with the Councilor's work. lightness because this approved provision, in contrast with European legislation, has brought Italy under infringement and therefore our Region will pay for this illegitimacy (no one knows how much) in financial terms, still subtracting money from Apulian citizens (d ' otherwise pay pants !!!!).
7) - DULCIS IN FUNDO the money of the hunters, paid for annual regional taxes for about 6.000.000,00 euros, which should have been turned over to the provinces for their own wildlife hunting management (LR 27/98), were instead distracted to replenish the coffers of the Apulian Healthcare. It was yet another robbery from the hunting world of the Vendola government.
For the above, the signatory categories of this document and in particular that of gunsmiths, intending to continue the protest with other types of demonstrations, they condemn the economic damage caused to the professionals and to all the related activities that revolve around the sector, due to the ever increasing restrictions perpetrated against the hunting activity which is not made only of "hunting" ask for the resignations of the councilor Stefano and hope that the regional government can, for the future, review certain positions and come up with solutions that can reconcile all the interests of the parties.
