An incredible motivation
A famous film by Mario Monicelli, recently back in the limelight especially during the Christmas period, taught us how some relatives are "snakes". All true, but when you face the issues related to the possession of a gun license A distinction should be made. There were none in the case of a man living in the province of Agrigento whose sporting rifle license was denied by the Police Headquarters for an incredible reason: an in-law. Is that possible? That's exactly what happened, but fortunately (for the protagonist of the story) there was a happy ending.
The requirement of reliability
Despite having a clean criminal record, the man was denied the precious document because he had married a woman from a family affected by property seizure measures. This was enough for the Sicilian Police Headquarters to remove the reliability requirement. An appeal to the Regional Administrative Court, however, restored order, underscoring a fundamental principle.
Errors upon errors
Specifically, according to the administrative judges, reliability regarding a firearms license must concern the applicant's personal and concrete information, and only that person. "Acquired guilt," as occurred in this situation, has no basis. Moreover, it was discovered that the defense briefs of the rifle license holder were deemed "absent," an error that significantly impacted the judgment.
