Young and promising
Preparations are underway at TAV Roma for one of the most anticipated events of the season. Over the weekend of Saturday, September 5th and Sunday, September 6th, the arenas of the Roman facility will host the Final of the 2026 Italian Youth Sector Championship, which will award the Italian Titles in the Olympic events of Olympic Trap and Skeet. 239 young and very young shooters are expected in the capital from all over Italy: 190 for Olympic Trap and 49 for Skeet. They will be accompanied by families, coaches, and regional delegates, for two days that will combine the value of competition with that of sharing, in one of the most important events in the federal calendar dedicated to the Youth Sector.
The preliminary series
For the Olympic Trap specialists in the Young Hopes Qualifications, both male and female, as well as for the Skeet Students, participation in the Final is reserved for athletes who have earned the bonus through the national qualifying events (here are the names of all the qualifiers). Participation will be open to the Novice male and female athletes in both specialties. The competition schedule includes 125 qualifying clays, split between 75 on Saturday and 50 on Sunday. At the end of the preliminary rounds, the top finishers in their respective rankings will advance to the finals using a modified ISSF format, which will determine the awarding of the Italian Championships.
Two intense days of sport
Concurrent with the Italian Championship, the Junior Italian Grand Prix will also be held, an open competition reserved for men's and women's Junior Qualifying Teams in Olympic Trap and Skeet. With championships to be won, finals to be fought down to the last clay, and many young talents ready to compete, the TAV Roma is preparing to host two intense days of sport dedicated to the present and, above all, the future of Italian Clay Pigeon Shooting (source: FITAV).
