An absolute first
A sensational event but one that could have been foreseen. For the first time in history (a good 751 years), the Sagra dei Osei of Sacile took place without the traditional singing competition. The competition was supposed to feature the song thrush but it was cancelled due to the protest of the breeders whose there was talk about it in the last few days too. What exactly happened?
The events of a few weeks ago
The police some time ago fined some exhibitors during the Annone Veneto Fair for violations related to the tampering of identification rings. In short, these people were accused of having ringed specimens captured through bird trapping and therefore did not come from any breeding.
Federcaccia and Pro Sacile
In the edition just passed, the singing competition would have ensured a great show. If in 2023, in fact, the specimens were 550, this time the reservations easily exceeded 700 units. Both the Pro Sacile and the local Federcaccia supported and backed the reasons for the protest.
