Specific enabling
The Sammarinese Hunting Federation, in compliance with the provisions of art. 20 of the Delegated Decree of 18 October 2021 n. 179 and subsequent amendments and additions (Multi-Year Wild Boar Wildlife-Hunting Management Plan 2021-2025), informs citizens that the selective culling of wild boar will begin on 15 March 2026 and will end on 15 August 2026, as foreseen and established by the Hunting Calendar 2025/2026This form of selective culling may only be carried out by personnel with specific qualifications and meeting the requirements set out in the 2021-2025 Multi-Year Wild Boar Wildlife and Hunting Management Plan. Selective culling will be carried out from pre-established fixed locations approved by the competent offices, in well-defined spaces, located appropriately distant from homes.
The calendar
The aforementioned stations and the related areas for intervention will also be marked with specific information signs. In this regard, it is noted that the selective culling of wild boar, during the period from March 15, 2026, to August 15, 2026, can be carried out every day of the week, except Tuesdays and Fridays, at set times. Specifically, selective culling, on permitted days, can be carried out for two hours in the morning, from one hour before to one hour after sunrise, and for three hours in the evening, from one hour before to two hours after sunset.
Accident prevention
The Sammarinese Hunting Federation wishes to point out that any access by third parties to the areas where selective culling is taking place, regardless of the activity they intend to carry out, will result in the immediate suspension of hunting activities. It also wishes to clarify that this selective containment activity is also aimed at preventing road accidents and damage to agriculture caused by wild boar, both of which are constantly increasing (source: Sammarinese Hunting Federation).
