The meeting seven days ago, Friday March 11 2016, At the meeting room of the former Macomer Walls Barracks (province of Nuoro) was much awaited by the Sardinian hunting world. The presidents of the hunting associations that are present on the island have in fact met for discuss and deepen the issues related to the Regional Wildlife Plan. The joint statement by Free Hunting, ArciCaccia, Enalcaccia, Italian Federation of Hunting, Italcaccia, Sardacaccia, Ucs, Ccs, Cnl, Cst and CPA announced the outcome of the appointment, which involved the various local administrations and attracted a large audience.
In particular, there has been much talk of lproblems that currently cannot be solved from a procedural point of view, specifically those implemented by the Regional Department of the Environment: based on what has been said, the planned procedure was not followed and consequently the plan was presented to the Council without first contact with the Regional Fauna Committee (as it should be). The debate then focused on doubts, perplexities and concerns regarding the possible realization of the Territorial Areas of Hunting in Sardinia, especially taking into account the fact that the results in the other Italian regions were not appreciable.
Precisely this topic was one of the most interesting to convince the public to participate in the meeting. In detail, all the associations that intervened have explained that they are opposed to the ATCs and do not want their realization. That is why the wish was expressed to change the regional law in relation to land management. One of the ideas formulated has to do with the establishment of a working group within these same associations. The aim would be to produce a modification of the regulatory text quickly and tightly, in order to configure a Regional Wildlife Plan more in line with expectations. The establishment of the Ambiti in Sardinia has been debating for some time.
In particular, the island is not seen as the right place for entities of this type: in fact, the territory is not as homogeneous as it would be necessary and in this way it is not possible to proceed with the coordination of the displaced offices. The meeting was undoubtedly fruitful and important updates are expected by the end of spring. The reference law in this case is the number 23 of 1998 ("Regulations for the protection of wildlife and for the exercise of hunting in Sardinia"): we begin to talk about hunting planning from article 19, within Chapter IV.
