Appropriate clarifications
The rules contained in the security decree expose hunters to many risks related to the use and transport of the knife during hunting activitiesIn such a sensitive matter, one cannot rely on interpretative sophistries. First of all, it must be clarified that a knife is a necessary tool for the hunter and that, particularly for certain types of hunting, its use is essential, even for managing the remains after the kill. Hunters are therefore forced to carry it with them, even on the journey to and from the hunting ground, as well as the rifle.
The case of the hunt
Even from these brief remarks, it's clear that it's necessary to clearly explain that the regulatory framework currently being approved cannot be applied to hunting; and, we dare say, even to many agricultural operations. We fully support the attempt to limit the ability to carry edged weapons, and we understand the complexity of the regulatory process, but we believe that Parliament can assess these specific aspects and provide clarity. We recall that, by definition, the hunting community is comprised of adults who already hold firearms licenses and are subject to regular and stringent checks.
Embarrassing situation
We therefore call on all political forces to work towards finding a solution to this embarrassing situation facing hunters. As on other occasions, we must remember that, had we been involved at the time, we could have made suggestions during the drafting phase of the decree. We believe, however, that there is still time and opportunity for parliamentary intervention to bring the law back to common sense (source: Arci Caccia).
