Stephen Privitera, president of the Sicilian Free Hunters, has decided to comment on the possible approval of what has been called "yet another political bandwagon". We are talking about the Peloritani Park, a natural area that should include the province of Messina. At the beginning of June, the construction of this park was also contested by the National Union of Hunters, now Privitera fears the expense of several million euros despite a "Regional budget asphyxiated and declared in near default".
The Sicilian Free Hunters are convinced of the fact that in this way new jobs are not created, as well as the claims of biodiversity and environmental protection. The president called for a visit to the precluded areas of the island, full of hungry and dangerous suidae, already responsible for serious destruction. There is also no shortage of illegal landfills of all kinds. Privitera is convinced that the territory must be lived, helped, valued and not mummified.
Even if it is thoughts of a hunter, outside the hunting season, those who practice this activity love to go to the woods and enjoy the splendor of unspoiled nature. The hope is that during the vote there are memories of the enormous waste of public money, which could soon lead to the failure of the Region.
