Withdrawals and monitoring
The Decree regulating the hunting harvest of the has been approved Italian hare, in the period from 23/10 to 30/11/2023: it will be possible exclusively in the municipalities where the monitoring of the species was carried out, allowed only to hunters who participated and who were then specifically authorized.
Lack of results
This is the statement made by the Regional President of Arci Caccia Leopoldo Vernagallo: "This project, now multi-year, does not seem to produce any concrete results, in fact, its aim should have been to establish the presence of wild animals in some territories of the Region and then, in based on monitoring data, regulate sustainable harvesting of the species open to all hunters. But after several years, it seems that this project, in the absence of appropriate decisions by the competent Department, has remained only a kind concession that allows hare hunting to the "usual suspects", in the face of many honest hunters who, naively, they thought that this monitoring would eventually lead to a reopening of hunting for this species.
Equal the rabbit's situation
This problem must be forcefully brought to the attention of the Councillor, so that, on the basis of data from previous years and on those obtainable from monitoring, to be planned on a large scale for the next season, the result obtained for the rabbit is achieved: inclusion in the CV 2024/2025 the sustainable harvesting of the Italian hare.” (source: Arci Caccia).
