Over ten patrols of the Macerata Provincial Hunting Federation's Volunteer Game Guards, coordinated by the Provincial Police, have been conducting night patrols to prevent poaching in preparation for the early opening of the quail hunting season. These species migrate at night across Italy to reach their wintering grounds. Poachers attempt to attract them by using electromagnetic decoys, prohibited by current legislation, and then indiscriminately kill them.

During these operations, six acoustic devices incorporating quail decoys were seized, which poachers had placed in the fields to illegally attract quail. The Provincial President of Federcaccia, Nazzareno Galassi, congratulated them on the excellent operation; he thanked and emphasized the importance of the Volunteer Game Guards' collaboration with the Provincial Police, particularly with the personnel who specifically coordinate these types of services.
