The satisfaction of the promoters
Data relating to the last referendum The voter turnout for bears and wolves in the Lower Valsugana was not great, at around 30% in the sixth 2025 consultation on large carnivores, which involved 18 Trentino municipalities. The voter turnout was below a third of eligible voters, at 29,975%, but the promoters expressed their satisfaction.
Who promoted the vote?
The decline compared to previous referendums has been explained by the fact that the issue is less acute in Valsugana. The signature drive was initiated by a campaigner, Ospedaletto city councilor Danilo Perin, who believed a final result above 20% would be considered acceptable.
The highest percentages
The highest turnout was recorded in Samone, Telve di Sopra, and Torcegno, with a 42% turnout. Citizens were asked to express their opinion on whether bears and wolves were dangerous, noting that bears are not resident in Valsugana, a detail that may have influenced voter turnout.
