Much appreciated social post
Just over two weeks: the 2026 edition of the EOS Show, held for the first time in its history in Parma, has just concluded, but it has to contend with the predictable controversy from a certain segment of the press. Il Fatto Quotidiano recently sparked an avoidable debate over the presence of minors at the show. Responding, with a highly appreciated social media post (just under 900 likes on Instagram and numerous comments), was Stephen Castellani, a Roman hunter who is very active on the web (he is among the most followed profiles in the hunting sector).
Rural world
In the video that appeared online, Castellani responded to the newspaper's controversy as follows: "Basically, your problem is that you don't care whether the kids are at the fairs or not. Your problem is that you're afraid that these kids might be educated or brought into the rural world, a world that is completely opposite to the standardized one you yourselves wanted to create and that we have today.".
There are young people…and young people
Castellani then added: “As for handling weapons, a boy who grows up in a family of hunters is immediately educated in the use of a weapon and immediately understands its danger, which is totally different from what kids from your world see in a video game. So perhaps today it's better to introduce young people to hunting, the rural world, and the use of a real weapon rather than being left sprawled on a couch playing video games. A boy who grows up in a family of hunters will never do the bullshit we hear every day.".
The article in Il Fatto
But what exactly did Il Fatto write? The title of the article published on April 5th is already eloquent: “Children and school groups at the Arms Fair: free admission for those under 12.“, then the text left no room for imagination, as can be understood from the incipit of the piece: “Smile, the shots above are for us. The huge EOS Fair (which stands for European Outdoor Show) in Parma from March 20th to 22nd went unnoticed by the national news. It featured three pavilions spanning 60 square meters, three hundred exhibitors (manufacturers of pistols, rifles, and similar products) and 40 tickets sold.".
