Evolution of the disease
The Experimental Zooprophylactic Institute of Piedmont, Liguria and Valle d'Aosta has recently released the latest bulletin regarding the control of African swine fever in the areas of competence, regular appointments that allow us to understand the evolution of the disease.
Pig farms
The total number of positive cases in wild boars has risen to 1.999. Piedmont remains stable at 799, while Liguria has risen to 1.200. Outbreaks in pig farms remain stable at 9. No new positive cases have been observed in wild boars in Piedmont. The regional total remains stable at 799.
The locations in detail
In Liguria, ten new positive cases have been detected in wild boars: five in the province of Genoa, two in Rapallo (eleven in total) and three in Serra Riccò (35); two in the province of Savona, both in Sassello (63); four in the province of La Spezia, one in Rocchetta di Vara (nine), and three in Zignago (nine). The total in the region has risen to 1.200 cases. The number of municipalities in which at least one positive case of African Swine Fever has been observed remains unchanged at 190.
