Assembly of Mayors
This time, yesterday, Monday, February 16, 2026, the Assembly of Mayors was held at the headquarters of the Province of Terni. On the agenda, among other things, was the issue of risks associated with African swine fever (Psa) which could affect the large numbers of wild boars present in the area.
Felling operations
Bringing the matter to the Assembly's attention, President Bandecchi emphasized the role of the provincial police in culling operations and managing the selection system.
Significant risks
"The provincial police," he stated, "supervise and monitor all wild boar selection operations, but under the current conditions this is not possible. The risks associated with swine fever are thus becoming extremely significant. The Region," the President said, "must take charge of the problem and allocate the necessary resources to enable the provincial police to carry out the tasks assigned to them by the relevant regulations."
