The Experimental Zooprophylactic Institute of Piedmont, Liguria, and Valle d'Aosta has issued a new update regarding African swine fever . The bulletin for these regions was updated on July 12, three days ago, and there are still data that urge extreme caution.
The regions in detail
The total number of positive cases in wild boars rises to 2.177. Piedmont's number remains stable at 823, while Liguria's increases to 1.354. Outbreaks in pig farms remain stable at 10. No new positive cases in wild boars have been observed in Piedmont. The regional total remains stable at 823.
The situation of the municipalities
Seven new positive cases have been detected in wild boars in Liguria: two in the province of Genoa, one in Genoa (307), one in Mignanego (17); one in the province of La Spezia in Calice al Cornoviglio (nine); four in the province of Savona, one in Cengio (second case), two in Piana Crixia (twenty), one in Varazze (forty). The total in the region rises to 1.354 cases. The number of municipalities in which at least one positive case of African Swine Fever has been observed remains at 205.
