The approved changes
The Board of Directors, during the meeting of 17 October 2024, on proposal from the Italian Terrier Society (SIT), has approved the changes to the requirements for obtaining the Italian championships as reported below:
a. Italian Beauty Championship for the Deutscher Jagdterrier, Parson Russell Terrier, Jack Russell Terrier breeds: passing the shooting test (SCHUBF) and qualification of at least Very Good obtained in the BHFK95 den test as a minimum test for registration in the working class and/or proclamation as Italian beauty champion;
b. Italian Working Championship for all hunting breeds protected by SIT: achievement of 3 CACs, 1 of which after at least 6 months and one day from obtaining the first, issued by at least two different expert judges and contested on at least two different working facilities (ZAC); one of the three CACs must necessarily be the “Championship Confirmation CAC” organized by SIT.
Tests and requirements to pass
The Board of Directors also accepted the proposal referring to the Deutscher Jagdterrier breed, recognizing a selection grid for dogs of members or not of the SIT, providing for the passing of tests and requirements in the context of official events specifically organized by the Specialized Association.
When will the new rules come into force?
The selection grid will include official tests recognized by the Authority, organized by SIT, with the release of ENCI certification to the dog that passes the required morphological, hunting and genetic tests, similar to those required by the mother country of the breed, to be admitted to international competitions managed by the European Club of the breed. The changes come into force from January 1, 2025 (source: ENCI).
