New hunting season
The early opening of the Fusone deer hunt, from 6 to 14 September, and the postponement of the chamois hunt to 20 September: these are some of the new features introduced by the 2026/2027 hunting calendar approved by the Regional Council of Valle d'Aosta.
Intense work
“The adoption of the calendar within the expected timeframe constitutes a significant result from an organizational and administrative point of view,” explains Agriculture Councillor Speranza Girod, highlighting the “intense coordination work” between the Region, the consultative bodies and the various subjects involved.

Galliformes
Regarding Alpine galliformes, the calendar "confirms the adaptive management approach envisaged in the Regional Wildlife and Hunting Plan, with harvest methods defined annually based on monitoring results and available technical and scientific assessments, with a view to balancing wildlife conservation and management sustainability," a statement from the Region states.
