Inaugural ceremony
Preparations are underway at the Porpetto Shooting Range (Udine) for the opening of the ISSF Junior World Cup, scheduled for Sunday, September 13th, the day of the Opening Ceremony, which will also be attended by FITAV and ISSF President Luciano Rossi. 219 shooters representing 30 nations will compete in the Skeet and Olympic Trap events until Saturday, September 19th. The Italian Skeet Team, led by the National Technical Director, is expected to arrive today, accompanied on this occasion by Coach Nicola Irene.
The blue squad
The men's squad representing Italy at this youth event includes Antonio Bellu (Carabinieri) from Sant'Antonio di Gallura (OT), Matteo Bragalli (Fiamme Oro) from Pistoia (PT), Marco Coco (Fiamme Oro) from Ardea (RM), and Antonio La Volpe (Fiamme Oro) from Montegiordano (CS), and the women's squad, Dalia Buselli (Fiamme Oro) from Pomarance (PI), Arianna Nember (Navy) from Lumezzane (BS), Eleonora Ruta (Fiamme Oro) from Cisterna (LT), and Adela Sparapani (Fiamme Oro) from San Vincenzo (LI). They will have just two days to familiarize themselves with the facility before taking part in official training sessions, scheduled for Sunday the 13th. The actual competition will take place on Monday the 14th and Tuesday the 15th of September.
Trap's team
The Italian Trap Team, led by Technical Director Marco Conti, will also arrive in Porpetto on September 15th. Accompanied by Federal Coach Rodolfo Vinagò, the men's team will include Andrea Diana (Fiamme Oro) from Frosinone, Luca Gerri (Fiamme Oro) from Erbusco (BS), Simone Roncen (Fiamme Oro) from Feltre (BL), and Francesco Tanfoglio (Fiamme Oro) from Muscoline (BS), and the women's team will compete in Valentina Archetti (Fiamme Oro) from Coccaglio (BS), Maria Iovinella (Navy) from Panicale (PF), Martina Montani (Fiamme Oro) from Castelverde (CR), and Camilla Stella Piazza (Fiamme Azzurre) from Genoa. After official training sessions, scheduled for Wednesday, September 16th, the competition will begin on Thursday, September 17th (source: FITAV).
