The largest shooting range in the world
The Italian national team of English Sporting The Italian national team will compete in the World Championships, which will be held in San Antonio, Texas, USA, from April 22 to 26, 2026. This is a highly significant trip, bringing the Italian team to compete in one of the most important and technical international settings, within the largest shooting range in the world. The American World Championship promises to be particularly challenging, with extremely technical, fast clays, and closely tied to the typical trajectories of the area, requiring great skill in reading and adapting.
Merit rewarded
By virtue of these characteristics, the composition of the Italian team is the direct result of the qualifying competitions held: a selection that was defined objectively and transparently through technical scores, rewarding exclusively merit, consistency, and the ability to best interpret the most complex targets.
The team in detail
The Men's team will consist of Gregorio D'Ambrosio, Mattia Cecchetti, Michele Gheza, Enrico De Tomasi, and Nicola Amadei. The Veteran team will field Giovanni Selvaggio, Vinicio Pamantini, and Salvatore Varone. Silvana Mangano will also compete in the Ladies' Individual category. Among the qualified athletes, all shooters will use guns produced by the Federation's sponsors: Benelli, Caesar Guerini, and Rizzini. This represents a strong signal of identity and value for the Italian sports movement: the leading figures in the sector will accompany the Italian team in a world-class competition.
A challenging competition
The participating companies have welcomed this opportunity with great satisfaction, as has the Federation, from the federal president to team manager Gregorio D'Ambrosio, proud to field a team that will compete exclusively with Italian firearms, a symbol of internationally recognized quality, tradition, and innovation. "It will be an extremely demanding competition, with very high technical standards, but we arrive prepared and aware of the work we've done. The qualifying rounds clearly and unequivocally expressed the values in the field, rewarding those who demonstrated the greatest solidity and consistency on technical targets. This gives even more value to the team that will represent Italy" (source: FIDASC).
