Not just collection points
In these hours, as Italian Wood Pigeon CoordinationWe share the concerns expressed by FIDC UCT – Federcaccia Toscana Unione Cacciatori Toscani and UCIM Federcaccia regarding the provisions regarding fixed hides contained in the new Wildlife Hunting Plan approved recently by the Tuscany Regional Council. We believe that hides cannot be considered exclusively as mere hunting sites.
Stakeouts as heritage
For thousands of hunters, they represent a wealth of knowledge, traditions, and concrete environmental management practices that, over the years, have contributed to the conservation and improvement of numerous habitats, benefiting countless wild species. Numerical limitations, administrative obstacles, and restrictions that will impact hides located within Natura 2000 Network sites, sites merely proposed as Natura 2000 sites, and even sites of regional interest, risk compromising the continuity of this reality, with consequences that deserve careful consideration and serious, constructive discussion.
Constructive comparison
Now is the time to stay alert and informed: the Italian Wood Pigeon Coordination is closely monitoring the situation, open to constructive discussion, and offering the assistance of its technicians, surveyors, and researchers to support those working to defend the rights of Tuscan hunters.
