An exciting challenge
The Tav Umbiraverde-Todi of Massa Martana (PG) was the stage for the end-of-year race of the Universal Trench. Now an unmissable event for all amateur specialty enthusiasts, the event attracted 90 shooters to the Umbrian platforms who, braving the cold temperatures of the weekend, took on an exciting challenge over the distance of 100 clays. While maintaining a more jovial flavor than national competitions, healthy sporting competition was felt on the platform. Proof of this was the perfect 100 out of 100 with which Stefano Narducci won the Open classification. The shooter from Altopascio (LU), representing Tav Pisa, did not let any clay slip away, closing the competitive season with a performance to be framed.
The winners
Among the Ladies, the best was Valeriya Sokha from Montecosaro (MC) and registered with Tav Castellano, while among the Juniors, Mario Fabrizi from Frosinone and representative of Tav Oca Selvaggia won. The top of the class performances were by Massimo Croce from Guidonia Montecelio (RM), first among the Seniors, by Agostino Paciotti from Marcellino (RM), first among the Veterans, both registered with Tav Tiratori Romani Riofreddo, and by Gildo Grondona from Genoa and representative of Tav Concaverde, best among the Masters. The “test” of the Mixed competition, in which five mixed couples competed, was also highly appreciated. The ones who climbed to the top step of the podium were Roberta Pelosi and Niccolò Triglia, followed in second place by Giulia Vernata and Giampaolo Micheletti and in third place by Valeriya Sokha and Roberto Zallocco.
The progress of the season
“I am happy and really satisfied with the progress of the entire competitive season – commented Sandro Polsinelli, Technical Commissioner of the Universal Trench National Team – Maybe just a few small regrets for a few medals missed at international level, but overall I would say that the year went well. As for participation, I am very satisfied and with yesterday's competition the increase in the number of shooters was confirmed. I saw new faces in all the Qualifications and this aspect certainly represents the engine that pushes us to move forward on this path. I thank the Federation in the person of President Luciano Rossi who, together with the Federal Council, has guaranteed us maximum support and full trust” (source: FITAV).
