Reverse gear
Like a cat on a ring road: that's how long the amendment signed by the Fratelli d'Italia senator lasted. Bartolomeo Amidei Which yesterday surprised and unnerved Italian hunters (also due to the MP's political affiliation). In the reform of Law 157 of 1992, Amidei wanted to extend the hunting ban to include farmland.
Last session
The amendment was withdrawn by the senator himself, as can be seen on the Senate website, which updated the latest proceedings of the Agriculture and Environment committees.
The amendment
This was the contested text: In amendment 12.0.1000, paragraph "Art. 12-bis", after paragraph 1 add the following:
«1-bis. In Article 21 of Law No. 157 of 11 February 1992, paragraph 1, after letter e), add the following:
e-bis) hunting activities near agricultural businesses open to the public, educational farms, and agritourism facilities no closer than 300 meters from buildings, enclosures, stables, or accommodation facilities associated with such businesses; no closer than 300 meters from the boundaries of land used for educational or recreational activities; and no closer than 300 meters from pastures or enclosures containing animals bred or housed for educational or tourism purposes. The Regions shall adapt their hunting regulations within 180 days of the entry into force of this law.
