The fragilities of the hunting world
The appeal against the Lazio Hunting Calendar for the 2026/2027 season is turning into a comedy of the absurd, exposing all the weaknesses of the hunting community. Animal rights and environmental groups (Leal Odv, Green Impact, Pro Natura, and Attivisti Gruppo Randagio) have called for the entire process to be annulled: calendars, ISPRA opinions, and regional documents. So far, it's been the usual legal battle. The Lazio Regional Administrative Court (TAR) has postponed the entire process until September 2, 2026, due to a colossal procedural flaw: notifications were sent to incorrect certified email addresses, and... the FIDC, which was not cited in the case, has raised an objection of illegitimacy regarding the incorrect certified emails sent to Libera Caccia, Arcicaccia, Italacaccia, and Enalcaccia.
A strange solitude
One wonders: where were the hunting associations looking? Is it possible that at such a crucial time for the hunting season, only the FIDC noticed they were serving documents to nonexistent addresses? This "strange" solitude on the part of Federcaccia raises a malicious question: is there real coordination among hunters, or is the FIDC playing the leading role to cannibalize the other organizations? The doubt becomes even more acute when you count the number of those present. The law requires all recognized hunting associations to be summoned to court. While the FIDC has defended the legitimacy of the four organizations affected by the incorrect certified emails, two associations still need to be summoned from scratch.

While animal rights organizations rack up bureaucratic blunders and lose their members along the way, the AAVVs demonstrate a complete lack of coordination. Two organizations are wiped off the radar and no one says a word; four others receive nonexistent certified emails and are left to watch as Federcaccia pulls everyone's chestnuts out of the fire. The hunters, always quick on their feet and in control of their territory, this time, in front of a computer, are all left frozen, watching their neighbor fire off his only useful shot.
