Recent passage
Il Stelvio National Park received a report of a recent bear passing near the village of Oga, in Valtellina. This is not an isolated case: the area is likely a transit corridor for these animals, which periodically move in search of new territories or a mate.
How to behave
To prevent the bear's presence from becoming a habit and the animal from being permanently attracted to the area around the town, it is important to adopt some precautions:
- Remove externally accessible food sources: garbage, pet food, and any other food attractants. Scattering animals, often young and inexperienced, are particularly sensitive to these lures.
- Do not follow the animal with the vehicle: chasing it generates stress and can cause unpredictable reactions.
- Do not approach to take photos or videos: always keep a safe distance to avoid stressing the animal and creating potentially uncomfortable situations.
Presence of wild animals
