A rich program
The month of August in the province of Bergamo promises to be packed with events related to hunting traditions, dog breeding, and the art of falconry. The first event is the 92nd Regional Bird Festival, which will be held at Sant'Uberto Park in Almenno San Salvatore . The event will kick off on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at 6:00 PM with a Holy Mass, and will then get underway on Sunday, August 9. Sunday will begin at dawn, with free registration for the birdsong contest starting at 5:15 AM and judging beginning at 18:00 AM. Registration for the dog show dedicated to hunting dogs and the Bergamasco Shepherd (valid for the Enrico Amoruso Best in Show Memorial) will open at 8:00 AM, with judging starting at 9:00 AM. The public will also be able to attend a demonstration of the art of falconry, "Hunting with Falcons," offered at two separate times during the morning (at 9:30 and 11:00), and a performance by falconers for the Franco Carsana Memorial, also scheduled for 11:00. The event will conclude with the awards ceremony at 12:00 and the closing of the festival at 12:30.
Lake Iseo
The second event will move to the shores of Lake Iseo on Saturday, August 15, 2026, for the 69th Sarnico Bird and Hunting Dog Fair, held at Lido Nettuno and surrounding areas. Organized by the Sarnico Municipal Hunters' Section, the event features a half-day admission fee and a large market with a singing competition for decoy birds, exotic birds, and migratory birds. This event will also feature stands selling hunting supplies, equipment, cages, and feed.
Special events
Enthusiasts will be able to admire a purebred dog show (cross-breeds are excluded), a display of ungulate trophies accompanied by tracking dogs, and a display of hunting decoys and games, as well as enjoy the food stands on site. The day will be enriched by two special events: from 10:00 am to 14:00 pm, there will be a display of diurnal and nocturnal birds of prey organized by DO.C Falconry, while from 13:00 pm to 14:00 pm, the WORD space will offer a demonstration with rescue dogs (source: FIDC).
