The categories in the competition
The first European Wild Boar Cup took place on 30 September 2023 in Montenegro, in the city of Bar. The organization was handled by the Kennel Club of Montenegro. Eight participating nations: Italy, France, Bosnia Herzegovina, Hungary, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia. The categories admitted were Single, Couple and Wetsuit, each nation could participate with one representative per category. Italy, France and Montenegro participated in all categories, most of the other nations only with singles.
Italy at the top
Italian hound dog breeding confirms its position at the top in the world. In the Couple category, Giovanni Giugnatici and Daniele Pugliese won by defeating the field with the pair Lillo and Acido. In the single category, great result for Paolo Cucini's dog Italo who performed a superlative performance, obtaining second place. The team of Briquet Griffon Vendeen, by Andrea Raimondi, did an excellent job, she was the only one to complete the round, but she was not qualified as the companion claimed not to have seen the wild boar.
The success of the event
We thank the Italian judges Felice Bracco and Ricardo Laschi, who in addition to myself judged this important event. The president of the FCI Commission Giancarlo Bosio presented his resignation at the meeting of the commission delegates, effectively leaving the presidency to Montenegro in the person of Miodrag Vretenicic, the Swiss Giovanni Brumana was confirmed as secretary (source: ENCI).
