Trial concluded
Nothing happened. This is the summary of the first hearing of the trial concerning the demolition of theAmarena bear, a specimen killed in 2023 in the Abruzzo National Park. The trial, in fact, ended with a postponement on grounds of procedural nullity at the Court of Avezzano (province of L'Aquila).
Exception of nullity
The defendant is Andrea Leombruni, the man who shot the bear, who was with her two cubs, near San Benedetto dei Marsi. In short, the judge simply upheld the nullity objection regarding the summons: the document was found to be formally incomplete.
What will happen now
Now a fresh start is needed, and the trial in question will have to start over again, specifically with a brand new summons and the subsequent convocation of a new hearing. The charge is animal cruelty, aggravated by the killing of animals.
