Busy schedule
With the start of the third month of the 2026 competitive season, the FITAV federal calendar is in full swing. Between the continuation of the Regional Winter Championships and several national events, the weekend of March 6th to 8th will offer a packed program of competitions. The calendar includes: 1st round of the Italian Propeller Championship, the 1st Golden Grand Prix of Compak Sporting and the Winter Individual and Club Championship of Universal Trench.
The composition of the teams
The Italian Championship for the propeller season will kick off on Saturday, March 7th at the TAV Bologna (BO) with the first round of the Italian Championship, open to FITAV members of all categories and qualifications. The competition schedule includes 15 propellers for each competitor, with a possible tiebreaker. The final ranking will take into account the best two out of three rounds, a requirement for access to the finals for the awarding of the titles scheduled for June. FITAV medals, prize money, and honorary awards are up for grabs. The competition will also inaugurate the Italian Club Team Championship, with teams composed of six shooters, at least two of whom must belong to a qualification.
Compak Sporting
On March 7th and 8th, Compak Sporting will kick off the most intense part of the season with the 1st Golden Grand Prix over 200 clays. The competition, which will earn valuable points for the 2026 Ranking and the Top Ranking Jump-Off, will take place at the TAV Olimpico Foligno (PG) with 100 clays on Saturday and 100 clays on Sunday. In the event of a tie for the top three positions in each Category and Qualification, a five-clay mini-jump-off will proceed, which will be repeated if the tie remains. The winners will receive federal medals and prize money.
Medals up for grabs
At the TAV Belvedere in Uboldo (VA), the Universal Trench will be the cold-weather title game. The competition will consist of a total of 200 throws, split between Saturday and Sunday, with participation in the Excellence, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd categories, as well as the Ladies, Youth, Senior, Veteran, and Master Qualifications. In the event of a tie for the top three positions, a playoff will be held. In addition to the individual competition, there will also be a team competition, with teams of three shooters. Each team must consist of three shooters, with a maximum of one Excellence athlete and one 1st Category athlete. Lower Categories may substitute for higher Categories, but not vice versa. The final ranking will be based on a total distance of 600 clays. FITAV medals, prize money, and Italian championship titles are up for grabs for the winners of each Category and Qualification.
The Winter Regionals continue
At the same time, from Friday 6th to Sunday 8th March, the Regional Winter Championships will also take place in 12 Italian regions, with Olympic Trench, Skeet, Universal Trench, Sporting and Propeller competitions in 13 facilities distributed across 12 Italian regions (source: FITAV).
