Strong technical value
A little less than a month after the April races, the FITAV Grand Prix of Youth sector are back in the spotlight with the second event on the federal calendar. On Saturday, May 16th and Sunday, May 17th, young and very young Olympic Trap and Skeet specialists will gather on the shooting range for a new challenge dedicated to the Under-21 talents of Italian Clay Pigeon Shooting. 266 competitors from 18 regions are expected to compete in two days of strong technical and educational value. Of these, 215 will compete in Olympic Trap, while 51 athletes will compete in Skeet. As always, they will be joined by families, Federal Coaches, and Regional Delegates, called upon to closely support the young people's sporting journey.
An important stage
Two venues have been designated for this second Grand Prix: for Olympic Trap, the host facility will be the TAV Umbriaverde-Todi in Massa Martana (Perugia), while for Skeet, the reference point will be the TAV I Moschettieri del Nera in Narni (Trapani). These two venues are ready to host an important stage of the youth season, also serving as a qualifying event for the 2026 Italian Youth Championship. As per the regulations, athletes will face 125 qualifying clays, divided into 75 on the first day and 50 on the second, before the finals reserved for the top finishers in each category. In addition to FITAV medals, there will also be valuable points up for grabs toward the Final of the Italian Youth Championship scheduled for September.
Opportunity for comparison
The 2nd Grand Prix represents an important event not only from a competitive standpoint, but also for the development of young shooters. It will be an opportunity for young men and women to compete with peers from across Italy, gain experience, and consolidate the technical, sporting, and character skills essential for their competitive future. FITAV Secretary General Mario Magnanini, Deputy Vice President Paolo Fiori, and Federal Councilor Christine Maria Brescacin will be present to witness the competitions, confirming the Federation's commitment to the national youth scene and a sector that continues to be a central focus of federal sports programming. All that remains is to wait a few more days, when the Umbrian shooting ranges will once again come alive with the enthusiasm, determination, and talent of the new generations of Italian Clay Pigeon Shooting (source: FITAV).
