The choice of the Ministry
An anniversary that can't go unnoticed: the 500th anniversary of the Pietro Beretta Arms Factory is already in full swing, and there's no shortage of celebratory initiatives. Among the most interesting is undoubtedly the commemorative medal that was talked about a few days ago, but the State Mint has not been outdone. The Ministry of Economy and Finance has commissioned the Istituto Poligrafico to create a special coin that will be available in a few months.
A 7-month long wait
This silver coin will be available for purchase starting September 16th. Seven thousand pieces will be available, each with a certificate of authenticity. A truly unique piece that further enhances the 2026 celebrations. Made of 999‰ silver, it was created by an engraver from the Italian Mint, Emanuele Ferretti (whose signature appears on one side).
The details of the two faces
This is a 5 euro coin, worth 140 euros. The obverse depicts the historic headquarters of Beretta. "GARDONE VAL TROMPIA" is clearly written at the bottom, while the designer's signature is even lower. The frame bears the inscription "REPUBBLICA ITALIANA." The reverse features the company's official logo surrounded by a decoration. The frame bears the inscriptions "5 EURO," the face value, "CINQUECENTESIMO ANNIVERSARIO," and "R," the mintmark of the Mint of Rome.
