Emotions and cheering
Il FITAV Youth Sector is preparing for one of the most anticipated moments of the national season this coming weekend with the 1st Grand Prix 2026, scheduled for Saturday, April 18th and Sunday, April 19th. This is a highly significant event for the Under-21 Italian Clay Pigeon Shooting scene, bringing 226 young athletes from 18 regions to Puglia: 184 competing in Olympic Trap and 42 in Skeet. Joining them, sharing the excitement and cheering from the stands, will be their families, FITAV Federal Coaches, and regional delegates.
Test benches
The event will be hosted at the Tav Gioiese in Gioia del Colle (BA), home of the Olympic Trench competition, and the Circolo Ilva in Taranto (TA), designated for Skeet. The two facilities will host one of the first important testing grounds of the season for young athletes, over two days packed not only with competition but also with opportunities to grow and have fun together. FITAV Vice President Paolo Fiori will closely monitor the competitions, supported by Federal Councilors Christine Maria Brescacin and Fiorenzo De Rosa, along with Federal employee Margherita Fiori.
How will the tests be conducted?
The competitions will be held over a distance of 125 clays (75 on the first day and 50 on the second), with finals reserved for the top finishers in each Qualification. In addition to honorary prizes, bonus points will also be awarded, counting toward qualification for the Final of the Italian Youth Sector Championship. The 1st Youth Sector Grand Prix 2026 promises to be an exciting and spectacular weekend, where the future of Italian Clay Pigeon Shooting will once again shine on the Apulian shooting ranges. An unmissable opportunity to experience the sport's most authentic values up close (source: FITAV).
