Regional resolutions
The sampling plans for the collared dove and pigeon species and the control plan for the species have been approved by the Tuscany Region mini hare. For the collared dove (Streptopelia decaocto) a maximum of 2023 heads may be collected by way of derogation in our Region for the 24-10.000 hunting season, which can be hunted in the presence of crops and agricultural activities even in pre-opening in the case of its authorization and which can be reported exclusively through the use of the digital hunting pass (Toscaccia app).
The objectives of the plan
The mini hare deserves a separate discussion, a species to be kept under control to protect agricultural production, but also to reduce interspecific competition with the hare. Wanting to be even more precise, the resolution of the Tuscany Region refers to the time frame that goes from this year until December 31, 2027.
The characteristics of the minilepre
The mini hare (also known as the eastern cottontail) is nothing more than a species of cotton-tailed rabbit, native to the American continent and which is part of the Leporidae family. In the United States it is quite widespread, while in recent times it has been introduced in other countries, such as Italy and France.
