Long and glorious history
THEItalian Shooting Union (UITS) inaugurates a new chapter in its long and glorious history. In a world undergoing profound change, our Federation and Public Institution has embarked on a strategic roadmap that will guide us through a two-year period of great transformation (2026-2027), leading to the supreme goal of the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. Our journey will be marked by events of absolute international prestige that we will have the honor of hosting in Rome, at our facilities: the ISFF General Assembly & Final World Cup 2026 and the World Cup 2027. These events will not only be a showcase for global sporting excellence, but will also represent a tangible demonstration of our Institution's efficiency and modernization.
Ancient culture
In this phase of profound renewal, our Extraordinary Commissioner, Attorney Walter De Giusti, emphasizes, "we feel compelled to forcefully reaffirm the very essence of our discipline. Target shooting embodies an ancient and noble culture, one that goes far beyond the mere instrument used. We do not intend to waste energy trying to convince those who, for ideological reasons, harbor prejudices against our world. Instead, we want to show the reality of the facts: in target shooting, the weapon is not an instrument of offense, but a means of absolute perfection. Our practice is, above all, a relentless training in concentration. It is the mastery of breathing, the pinpoint pursuit of precision, total control of body and mind. It is the rare and precious ability to synchronize one's emotions with the rhythm of the body, a human and sporting value that should guide anyone, in any context, who approaches a weapon."
Recovery plan
To convey this vision to society, Secretary General Dr. Remo Tagliacozzo emphasizes, "UITS is undergoing a structural evolution. We are modernizing our organizational processes and our technological infrastructure, raising the already high security standards to remain an unshakable partner of the State and institutions and a key player in the sports sector. This journey unites our regional Sections into one large family. From the Alps to Sicily, each TSN Section is now the guardian of this new sporting and institutional identity, united under a single brand and a single goal." For this reason, in the coming weeks we will launch a schedule of direct meetings in the local area to listen to the concerns of the TSN Sections and present the organization's relaunch plan. We are ready to welcome any helpful comments you may have that could contribute to the ongoing process of change. The future of UITS depends on its reorganization, and we are ready to build this new, exciting era together.
