THEAssociation of Trentino Hunters has a new guide. He is the only candidate running for this role as president, Stephen Ravelli. A few days ago, Sunday 17 June 2018, 6 thousand Trentino hunters gave their preference and now Ravelli will hold this important position until 2020. The last few months have certainly not been easy, as evidenced by the early resignation of his predecessor by the president of ACT, Carlo Pezzato.
Last March this sensational decision was reached but still foretold and up to now the deputy vice president, Matteo Rensi, managed the various activities. Ravelli is a lawyer from Val di Sole and is 54 years old: he has been a member of the hunting association for 35 years. Pezzato's resignation had come two years before the normal term of office. In the history of the Trentino Hunters Association, nothing like this had ever occurred, which is why the news caused a certain sensation.
The connection with the investigation for the alleged abuse of office was already evident, in addition to the divisions that can no longer be healed within the majority in support of the board of directors. Ravelli's first words were marked by prudence, in particular the new president asked for a scientific analysis on large carnivores before proceeding with the abatement plans.
