The families involved
The planned outing with the fourth-grade class of the "Sacro Cuore" Primary School in Trieste took place in the past few days. The initiative was attended by: the students, the teacher, and the class leader, representing the 25 families involved. The group was accompanied by the Italian Hunting Federation (FIH), a representative of the Opicina Forestry Station, and other collaborators along an educational trail dedicated to environmental protection.
Information tables
The main activity involved placing information boards on the rules of conduct to be adopted in the woods and along the Karst trails, with particular attention to the protection of wildlife during the delicate birthing season.
Environmental education
The itinerary concluded at the Basovizza Reserve hunting lodge, where the organizers offered all participants a wild boar lunch. Heartfelt thanks go to the Reserve's Director, Donato Abbatessa, and to all the members who contributed so dedicatedly to the event's success and for their exquisite hospitality. Special thanks also go to hunter Marina Duban for her valuable and active participation. The experience represented an important opportunity for environmental education, strengthening the bond between the younger generations, their families, and the local natural heritage (source: Federcaccia).
