The Confederation of Tuscan Hunters criticizes the contents of the regulation on "Animal Welfare" hoping for substantial changes.
The European directives are upset: the square meters provided without distinction have doubled, Chihuahuas like the Great Danes. At risk every owner of one of the more than 400 dogs kept in the Tuscany Region. The Confederation of Tuscan Hunters asks President Rossi for urgent interventions. It fell to a structure managed by hunters, but the individual citizen, the voluntary shelter structures, the municipal kennels, that is, each holder of one of the more than 400 dogs kept in the Tuscany Region could end up in the sights. The facts: Enpa guards, after a check on the conditions of custody of a pack of wild boar dogs, in a shelter that has existed and has been operating for over 30 years, reported smaller dimensions than those provided for by the application regulation of regional law 59/2009 .
"We want to remember - reads a letter that was first addressed to the president of the Region Enrico Rossi but also sent to the councilors of agriculture Salvadori and health Marroni and to all political forces - that it has been raised several times, and by many parties , the absolute arbitrariness, not anchored to any indication, neither technical nor, least of all, scientific, of the definition of the square meters set by the regulation as minimum for each dog kept.
The regulation, which says it wants to operate "in analogy" to the European directive, distorts the forecasts, doubling the square meters provided and making no distinction, as in the directive, to the size of the dogs: a Chihuahua becomes the same as a Great Dane ". After underlining how to date nothing has been done, with a consequent climate of uncertainty, the Confederation of Tuscan Hunters asks for "certain answers in this particularly delicate matter, in the absence of which we will find ourselves forced to denounce and protest initiatives in the forms that we will consider necessary.
