Introduce this morning to Consultation table with the The Tuscan Regional Authority the observations to the draft proposal of the hunting calendar for the 2021-2022 season. Without prejudice to a substantially positive opinion on the text presented which reconfirms a plant that has been consolidated for years in our region, the meeting provided an opportunity to recall some aspects of merit aimed at solving some critical issues already raised in the previous discussion table.
Having positively acknowledged, as requested by us, the reconfirmation of the collection of the Tortora in pre-opening and of the annual collection of the Lark species in 100 heads for "specialist" hunters, following the decisions taken in the CCT presidency, the president Marco Salvadori went on to identify the main and further observations and proposals of merit: As regards the hunting of species Pochard and Lapwing, the approval by the Regional Council of two distinct species management plans is proposed. This act can then become an integral part of the Hunting calendar 2021/2022 including the provisions relating to seasonal and daily collection limits and the reporting methods for the garments removed.
This approach, in addition to strengthening from the scientific point of view the reasons aimed at allowing the collection of the species in question, would partially fill the lack of drafting and approval of the National Management Plans of the Pochard and Lapwing species as requested by Europe. As described above, the two draft proposals of the Management Plans were delivered to the Department in which the scientific data highlighting the trend of the populations, the monitoring and the possible sampling of the Pochard and Lapwing species, drawn up thanks to the collaboration of the 'Study and Research Office of the Italian Federation of Hunting. Regarding the regulation of the wild boar selection hunting in non-suitable areas, the re-proposal of the formulation already contained in the previous 2020/2021 Hunting Calendar was reiterated.
This formulation, in compliance with the provisions of art. 24 of Regional Law No. 61 of 15 July 2020 which amends art. 28 bis of Regional Law 3/94, clearly states that the organization, in terms of timing and methods of the wild boar selection hunt within non-suitable areas, is implemented by the ATC. The experience gained has shown that the choices made by the ATCs in the territories of competence have guaranteed and will allow to reach the necessary balances for a correct harmonization of the various forms of hunting and the relationship between wild boar selection hunting and hunting districts. with wild boar in hunt.
As for the species Woodcock, Cesena and some aquatic species, our technical offices will provide further studies and updated scientific data in the next few hours to support the technical-scientific reasons inherent to the sampling times of the aforementioned species. Finally, some inconsistencies were highlighted and the relative ones provided proposals for changes relating to the methods and times of sampling of some species, as regards Annex A - particular provisions for the individual regional districts, within the SPAs and SACs.
