Hunting: Tuscany, the Confederation of Tuscan Hunters on the new areas identified by the Region as highly critical ungulates, "it is necessary to block and reset everything!"
The Sienese Associations adhering to the CCT: “Open a true confrontation to reach shared solutions”. Identification of problem areas for the management of wild boar and other ungulates it is generating a chaos that will not answer any of the problems on the pitch; on the contrary, this solution is causing disaffection and distancing from responsibilities on the part of the hunting world and does not provide adequate answers to farmers. In recent days, having been able to fully evaluate the proposals presented by the Province indicating the perimeter of problem areas - areas with particular regulation of the collection of ungulates and which should have had high historical incidences of damage to crops - we found ourselves faced with an identification of the all inadequate and the result of decisions taken at the table. No consultation with the interested categories has developed and today, in the face of this serious situation, the undersigned hunting associations reject any responsibility in this regard. Today Arci Caccia and Federcaccia di Siena, united in the CCT, are committed to rejecting the proposals made and supporting the reasons those who in recent years have committed themselves to a correct management of the fauna heritage in our province, to ensure prevention and control. number of ungulates with even the few tools available.
The inclusion in problem areas of areas historically suited to ungulates and which do not present substantial damage to crops, the failure to face the knot of killing with courage even within the various hunting prohibitions and the failure to grasp the opportunity and the need to reconsider the suitability of the entire territory are examples that highlight the lack of an adequate strategy on the part of the Provincial Administration.
A long sequence of errors and conditioning of which the hunters still pay the consequences, starting from the story of the control of the fox, from the crisis of the Sienese ATC regarding the certainty of economic transfers (resources provided for by law) up to the only case in Tuscany , the inability to resolve the serious open fracture with the agricultural component self-excluded from the ATC organisms.
All these issues that the hunting associations of the CCT have recently forcefully submitted to the President of the Province and on which we are awaiting urgent responses and concrete commitments. All this is grafted onto choices produced by the Tuscany region which, instead of collecting the wide-ranging proposals and repeatedly solicited by the Confederation of Tuscan Hunters, has chosen to take the shortcut of identifying problem areas as a unique and absolutely partial response to the serious and complex issue of ungulate management.
Given all this, it is necessary to promote the following actions:
1) Block, with the consequent zeroing, these proposals and this provision;
2) Open a path of real comparison and deepening with the interested categories and in the first place with the hunting associations;
3) Define an organic strategy for the management of ungulates, overcoming the approach of partiality and top-down choices.
