Arci Caccia Toscana on the ruling of the Council on the Regional Hunting Calendar, “It is necessary to guarantee legal certainty for hunters”.
The sentence of the Court declaring the constitutional illegitimacy of the hunting calendar approved by law is, although not unexpected, bad news that contributes to increasing the degree of uncertainty that has been affecting hunters for some time. With this act, Tuscany is, in fact, having to reconstruct a new Calendar which, in a very short time, once again offers tens of thousands of Tuscan hunters the certainty of being able to carry out their activity with serenity and certainty of rules. It is therefore imperative that from today, taking note of the sentence of the Constitutional Court, the Region approves as soon as possible a new act that restores a certain regulatory framework that safeguards the rights of hunters. It will be the Region to identify the most suitable paths to achieve this aim, whether they are of a technical-legal nature and / or more properly of a political nature; the important thing is that legal certainty is affirmed in relation to an activity that has been traversed by conflicts and precariousness for too long.
A path that must now be guaranteed by the Tuscany Region and by the Councilor Salvadori, hoping that his statements to the press of these hours and the reassuring and optimistic tones, are really founded, translating into consequent facts and actions. The Court's ruling is also the legal consequence of a wrong political climate which in all these years has fueled illusions and false expectations. As we have been affirming for unsuspected times and as we have recently declared in our National Congress and in all the countless initiatives that our association has held in recent months also in the Regional Tables, the priorities of hunting are very different from those represented by expansionary claims.
We do not deny, in principle, the legitimacy of such requests, especially if supported by scientific data that could support their validity; such requests, however, in order to be further strengthened in a social key and in order not to encounter obstacles of a cultural nature, must be inserted within a more overall context whose fundamental contents are represented by the real emergencies that weigh on the topicality of wildlife management. environmental (unitary government of the territory, new pact with the agricultural world, cultural challenge against animalism, etc.).
For all this it is necessary to start a new phase that points directly to the solution of the central problems that we have mentioned several times. An urgent return to the field of politics is needed to re-establish a new institutional framework of reference in the prerogatives of the Regions and that in Parliament, thanks to a solid front of alliances, it leads to the construction of some necessary legislative reforms for the relaunch of management, to guarantee the fauna control of some populations of wildlife, to respond and defeat the new animal rights wave with facts which is poisoning relations in the country by restoring profile and authority to the hunters and hunters of the future.
