La Regional Council of Tuscany approved on 21/06/2021 the resolution n ° 665 in which the authorization of the hunting notwithstanding the starling for the hunting season 2021/2022. An important and positive decision that allows the possibility of picking in vineyards, olive groves and orchards for a radius of 100 meters even in situations with scattered vegetational nuclei; the presence of a single plant will be sufficient, as long as there is a hanging fruit. Withdrawal of maximum 100 animals confirmed for the entire period (1 September 2021 - 15 December 2021) for a limit of 20 garments per day.
The ban on the use of calls for the reference species has been confirmed. As regards the methods of reporting the levy for this species, it is permitted to practice this form of hunting even to those who do not have a digital hunting card and use the paper one instead. Nonetheless, it remains of extreme importance updating of sampling data for this species, as to the achievement of 12.500 culled animals, the Region may ask ISPRA to increase the maximum abatement quota currently set to a maximum of 25.000 animals that can be taken in Tuscany. For hunters who use the "TosCaccia" digital hunting card, there are no particular requirements in this regard., as the electronic register is updated at the time of use of the app itself in the marking of the garments, to be carried out immediately after recovery in the appropriate section for withdrawals in derogation.
For those who will use the paper hunting card, the communication of the killed Storno heads can be made by the individual hunter, through the periodic compilation of the appropriate information sheet on the web page of the Region, sector of wildlife hunting, amateur fishing, sea fishing, or through the hunting associations. As described above, the Confederation of Tuscan Hunters, as in the last season, in all the territorial offices of the confederate associations, it will be available to members who need it to assist them in this operation (Source: Confederation of Tuscan Hunters).
