A scarcely credible figure, 600 turtle doves killed in just one minute In Umbria on the day of 2 September destined for the pre-opening. This led to the suspension of the hunting activity as early as 8,24, i.e. just two hours after the hunting started at 6,15 because the maximum number of animals that could be killed had been reached. All this aroused discontent among the hunters. To see clearly what really happened, Italcaccia di Terni, through its president Mauro Longari, requested access to the documents to verify the exact number of turtle doves killed by each individual hunter.
As is known, hunters are required to report the animals shot down in real time by communicating it via a special link. It must be said that, responding to some criticisms, the competent councilor Roberto Morroni stated: “The web app was monitored from 6.15 am on 2 September until the closing of the pre-opening day without any errors or inefficiencies being found. In particular, all the foreseen alerts were duly displayed and there was no blocking of the game bag count. Furthermore, no reports of disservices or malfunctions have been received by the Puntozero helpdesk who created the web app”.
"With our request for access to the documents - Longari reiterates - we just want to ascertain whether this counter worked correctly, we are not accusing anyone, we owe a response to the numerous complaints we have received from hunters" (source: Italcaccia).
