Documents examined
The Third Commission of the Legislative Assembly has expressed a favourable opinion on two documents adopted by the Regional Council and illustrated by Councillor Simona Meloni in the previous session: the proposal for a hunting calendar for selective hunting of the wild boar species and the proposal for hunting calendar for selective hunting of deer and bovids.
The reliefs
Before commenting on the documents, the Commission consulted with representatives of Cia Umbria, Cpa Terni, Urca Umbria, Federcaccia, Enalcaccia, Arcicaccia, Anuu, WWF, and officials from the Regional Council. Their comments revealed agreement with the provisions of the hunting calendars, although they made some observations regarding the duration of hare, woodcock, and deer hunting; fox hunting methods; and dog training periods.
ISPRA opinions
Any changes to the calendars, as highlighted by the Palazzo Donini offices, would require a new adoption by the Council and new opinions from ISPRA, the Commission, and other bodies, with the risk of delaying the opening of the hunting season (source: Umbria Region).
