Hunting: Umbria, the new Hunting Calendar valid for the 2015/2016 Hunting Season has been pre-adopted; pre-opening from 2 September 2015.
The regional councilor for Hunting, Fernanda Cecchini, regarding the new 2015-2016 Hunting Calendar of Umbria pre-adopted by the Regional Council, commented, “Apart from a simple adjustment of the dates, the 2015-2016 hunting calendar that we have pre-adopted follows that of last year as the regional council believes that it has correctly applied national and community regulations, despite the acts with which the government imposed the changes for the last hunting season with the early closure hunting the song thrush, cesena and woodcock species ". “On the other hand, we had already pointed out to the Government that, in the absence of adequate changes to the national law, as Regions we would have proceeded with the drafting of the new hunting calendars as we have done in the past. We are convinced of the consistency of our choices and we will continue in the same direction, hoping that the Government will clarify and evaluate the possible actions to be supported at European level for an effective uniformity of application of the provisions on the subject, at least for those countries that share similar characteristics for ecosystems. and climate. Closure to migration is therefore set for 31 January ".
Continuing the commissioner explained, "The full day of pre-opening is scheduled for September 2, exclusively from stalking, for the species teal, garganey, mallard, dove, blackbird, wood pigeon, hooded crow, jay and magpie, and instead in the days of 6 and 13 September the collection will be allowed up to 13 pm with the reconfirmation for only 13 pm of the collection of the quail. This choice, shared by the majority of hunting associations, was adopted to combine the needs expressed by the hunting world to allow the collection of the so-called estatine species on the first useful day of September and at the same time favor, with the half days of the two following Sundays, the unable hunters. to take a day off to exercise their passion ".
“It remains fixed - explained Cecchini - on the third Sunday of September, which this year falls on the date of the 20th, the general opening to all species with the exception of ungulates whose sampling periods will be established with their own deed by the provincial administrations; for wild boar it starts on Sunday 4 October and closes on 3 January with the possibility for the Provinces to postpone opening and closing. The early closure of the hunt for female pheasant on November 30th is also foreseen, to safeguard the reproduction of this species. This choice has also been made in other hunting contexts ".
“Hunting for hare - explains the councilor for hunting - will be allowed from 20 September to 13 December. The selection hunt for fallow deer, roe deer, red deer and mouflon will run from 21 June to 19 July, from 16 August to 4 October and from 4 January to 13 March 2016. "
Finally, Cecchini concluded, "The proposal has already been sent to ISPRA, the Higher Institute for Environmental Protection and Research, and to the third Commission of the Regional Legislative Assembly which will meet tomorrow, March 25, to the competent opinion before returning to the Executive Committee for final adoption. We hope to reach final approval by next mid-April, so as to make it possible to start the selection hunt scheduled for 21 June ".
