A moment much awaited by hunters
“We support the request made by the hunting associations, together with that on the exceptions to the hunting calendar, relating to the request to bring the dog test forward to Sunday 11 August”. Thus the leader of the League in the Regional Council ofUmbria, Valerio Mancini, who argues: “The dog trial is a moment much awaited by Umbrian hunters, a land where dog breeding has a great tradition. An activity which, among other things, generates a significant impact also from an economic point of view, and which therefore must be supported".
The progress of the hunting season
“The dog test – adds Valerio Mancini – is also important to allow the valuable fauna introduced into the territory to get used to hunting activities and therefore also for this reason it is important for the correct conduct of the hunting season”.
A common sense measure
“Even though close to the August holiday – concludes Mancini – many hunters are still busy with their work and therefore starting the dog trial on a public holiday, Sunday 11 August, would give everyone the opportunity to participate. For all these reasons it is a common sense measure and as a League we are sure that the councilor will immediately accept the hunters' request, given the imminence of the deadline".
