Federcaccia asks for the modification of the hunting calendar of the Umbria Region regarding the ban on hunting Woodcock in case of low temperatures.
Federcaccia Umbra, set aside tensions and controversies for the hunting calendar, having overcome the various pre-openings and general openings, on 29 September last, it forwarded to the Umbria Region the request for modification of point 4, letter B of the hunting calendar, relating to the so-called "thermal zero" for hunting woodcock during the month of January.
In fact, so states the Hunting Calendar regional point 4 of letter B concerning the prohibitions: In the period 1 January - 30 January 2012, hunting for woodcock and aquatic, in wandering form, is allowed only with the aid of the dog within wooded areas and in the vicinity of water bodies. The withdrawal to the woodcock it is suspended if the average temperatures of the previous two days remain below the "freezing point".
As an association we strongly express our hope, supported by the fact that there are all the necessary technical times, so that the modification of the point in question is carried out. Moreover, the same regional councilor Fernanda Cecchini, last September 11 during the last session of the regional wildlife - hunting council, gave us a glimpse of the willingness to reconsider the point relating to the "zero temperature". Therefore, as of now, we thank the commissioner Cecchini for the good predisposition shown to us.
