The favorable epidemiological situation relating to avian influenza has led the European Commission and the Ministry of Health to authorize its use in support of hunting - the Veneto Region announced in a note - in full compliance with the rules and prescriptions of a rigorous operational protocol adopted, on the basis of Community indications, by the competent national authority, the Ministry of Health.
It is precisely the Ministry itself that certifies the successful and positive overcoming of a critical phase of the avian influenza epidemic in the national context and, on this basis, to start a new management phase, oriented to an authorization for the use of these recalls. alive. And this also taking into consideration the fact that this very use assumes the role of a punctual element monitoring of the epidemiological situation on the regional territory. It therefore fits into this overall picture the resolution approved on Monday by the Veneto regional council, on the proposal of the councilor for hunting, Giuseppe Pan, in concert with the councilor for health, Luca Coletto.
"The use of live calls must therefore comply with appropriate biosecurity measures, in order to be able to identify in an early manner the possible spread of the avian virus - warns Pan - which, as known, is transmitted and circulates in the populations of birds, wild animals, domestic and in breeding. The Veneto Region therefore confirms the authorization regime that it had already adopted ten years ago, thus ensuring compliance with the procedural and management provisions identified by the Ministry of Health ”.
