Meeting in Venice
A delegation from the Association for Rural Culture, the Confederation of Italian Hunting Associations, the Venetian Hunters Association, Italcaccia, and the Foundation for Rural Culture was received in Venice by representatives of the main regional institutions such as: the President of the Regional Council of Veneto, the Councillor for Hunting and the majority group leaders.
The problems illustrated
The delegation, represented by the Hon. Sergio Berlato, has exposed to the regional institutions the problems that affect hunters in Veneto, including:
1 – the correct use of hunting posts;
2 – the correct use of live decoys equipped with an irremovable ring;
3 – the correct methods of noting on the regional hunting license the animals killed during the exercise of hunting activity;
4 – the continuous appeals to the TAR which run the risk of decimating the regional hunting calendar.
What will happen in the next few days
The regional institutional representatives present would seem to have understood the arguments presented by the Hon. Sergio Berlato and received the suggestions to be able to find immediate solutions to these problems so as to ensure a timely issuance of initiatives aimed at solving the problems highlighted. The Hon. Sergio Berlato, who spoke on behalf of all the Associations that requested the meeting, has already announced that based on the outcome of today's meeting with the regional institutions and on the ruling of the TAR of Veneto scheduled for 19 September on the 2024/2025 hunting calendar, the timing and methods of organizing the protest demonstrations of the hunters of Veneto will be decided (Hon. Sergio Berlato - National President of the Association for Rural Culture, Giulia Sottoriva - National President of the Confederation of Italian Hunting Associations, Umberto Venturini - Regional President of the Venetian Hunters Association, Gianni Garbujo - Regional President of Italcaccia, Gianfranco Vezzaro - National President of the Foundation for Rural Culture).
